Abby had her x-rays and the Vet said she didn't see any food in her esophsgus and it appeared normal. Doesn't mean she doesn't have it and the way to be more definite is to scope her. The Vet feels as though it might be that the stomach sphincter may not be tightening properly thus allowing food to back up into her esophsgus which then causes her to regurgitate. She started her on Reglan daily. We'll try that for a couple of weeks then if she doesn't regurgitate within that time, she'll add another couple weeks of the med and go from there. Hoping this does the trick but there really is no rhyme or reason as to when Abby does this. It's never right after she eats. She could go weeks without having any problems.
If she really needs to be scoped, I'll have it done.
For now, we'll see how or if this medication helps. |
