Forgot to add, when I first adopted my kid he was 2 1/2 years old and did not pay with any balls what so ever. We are a team 4 years now, and he plays with balls now, but won't touch a tennis ball could be the covering on them. Try a regular ball, a smaller ball if your pup is tiny.
