As for free feeding, I wish I could do it for my nine year old boy. He too gets sick if he is too long without food and I would like to free feed. However, he gobbles all his kibble down in a microsecond of me putting the food down and would eat all day long if I let him. It is hard to limit his food so that he does not get overweight, so I feed three or four times a day with a few kibble as snacks in between if he is starving. I think the Hills ID low fat he eats to ward off pancreatitis is not very satisfying and gets digested very quickly. I did try adding lean chicken breast to augment the kibble but that did not seem to work either.
A good thing about regular meals means regular pees and poops! | Adding green beans might help him feeling fuller with out lots of calories.
