This is how we trained Bella. At five years of age, she still sleeps in her carrier on the night stand where she can see us sleeping. She cried for maybe 20 minutes each night before falling asleep for the first week or two we had her, but after that, she only vocalized if she needed to potty. Now, she views her small carrier as a safe, comfortable place to be. We have it lined with a couple of soft baby blankets, nothing else. It's only big enough for her to stand up, turn around, and lie down in.
