Default Older Yorkie having trouble with large new "brother"

My 13 year old Yorkie, Susie, is having trouble adjusting to Turnip, a one year old, 70 lb addition to our family. Turnip is gentle and patient, but he seems to have had about enough of Susie's snarkiness. Recently, Turnip has started growling back and occasionally swatting at her with his paw. Her behavior toward him is aggressive and jealous. She is very slowly, very gradually starting to accept him, but I wonder if part of the trouble is that she's afraid of him because of the difference in size and the fact that her eyesight is dimming. I think they are going to work out their differences, but I'm afraid Susie will get hurt in the meantime. Any suggestions?
