There's no such thing as neutering to guarantee the fixing of marking.
They're animals and creatures of individuality. They sometimes say neutering before the hiking happens, may 'fix' it. But as Matese mentioned, it's not a guarantee. Though I can almost guarantee that once they start hiking, they will continue to do so. It's in their nature and part of who they are. You just have to learn to embrace it.

I use Nature's Miracle to clean up after accidents, it's supposed to remove the enzymes that normal household cleaners don't.

But best thing to do is prevention. If he likes that same spot, make sure he doesn't have access to it. And perhaps limit the space he can access when you can't monitor him.

I'm curious why you don't leave the belly band on all day? Does he use an indoor potty pad?
