As I understand the full comments by Tx-Debb, the vet's intention was to use the "silky" as a description to contrast the difference between the hair of the dogs (as opposed to "Silky," as a breed identifier).

Believe my earlier post exacerbated the "silky" vs "Silky" confusion when I referred to my neighbor's oh-so-sweet Silky-Yorkie mix.
