Thank you for the memories! I had a similar experience with my late little one. She was all grown up but but would not eat adult dog food. She did, however, gobble up all the bits of chicken and rice put in her dish.
The vet decided she needed a dental and I needed a good lecture. When we returned for the dental, I brought with me samples of **all** the foods we had tried out in vain.
He picked one bag--based on ingredients and kibble size (relative to her teeth) and told me to put only that food in her dish. His comment was, "When she gets hungry, she will eat it." That's what happened.
She eventually got a little chicken on the side every so often.
I just read the comments by others above about about supplemented raw diets. Sounds like a better alternative to my "chicken on the side."
