Actually lightening up about the word would be terrible. It was a word that was made up my puppy mills and bad breeders to try and make more money on their pups. In order to get these pups they refer to as teacups they have to breed very tiny dogs and risk the lives of these poor tiny females that normally have to get csections to end up having the puppies. A lot of puppy mills will actually cut the female open and do the c section themselves with the dog still awake and no pain medication. The breeders using the word teacup also will just put the smallest dogs they have together to make tiny pups not caring if there are health issues or not they just want tiny for more money. No reputable breeder will be associated with that word. The is why it is such a terrible word. Yes I word does make a huge difference. If people hear you using that word and they go to get a puppy they will think that word is ok and its not and they will be supporting a terrible breeder.
