Separating the two siblings from each other and a family they knew and loved there will be some separation anxiety missing the sibling and their human family, but they are just puppies and adapt to changes, it will not happen over night but if you give the puppy a lot of attention, lots of playing with it, training basic commands, sit, stay, come, drop it, etc. with lots of praise and treats the pup will come around and training builds a bond between owner and puppy.
It takes a bit of patience, but the pup will come to know you as it's momma. I have always had females, raised from 8 weeks old, all tom boys, feisty lil critters, I socialized all of mine as soon as they had all their vaccines, they loved all ppl and all types of animals. They were sweeet loving girls that loved to play and wrestle with each other but came to me for cuddles and love.
The reason they didn't pay you much attention is because they were to engrossed in playing with each other, yorkies are filled with energy and will play till they drop. Don't feel offended by this, yorkies just love to play and play hard.
My females are all now passed. 4 years ago I adopted a 2 1/2 year old lil boy, my first boy, the difference is see in a male or female is, my boy is more of a mommas boy, if I sit on the sofa, heat of summer, cold of winter, my boy is pressed into my thigh lol. They say boys are more affectionate then females, I am finding that to be so.
My boy was neutered when I adopted him, he is outdoor potty trained, he squats to pee and no leg hiking in or outside unless he is walked near a fence or wall lol.
They do grow fast, get bigger, but still are sweet, crazy, playful, loving little monkeys. The family that has them should give you some alone time with each of them where the puppy can focus only on you with no other distractions, give you some time to play and interact with them one on one, maybe you can get a better feel which is the right one for you, boy or the feisty lil girl.
I myself am partial to little girls, so hard to offer up which sex is the better choice. Good luck in your decision, you will not go wrong either way, a ylorkie, male or female is still a loveable lil yorkie.
