(she lives for that cheese shred. she even knows the distinct sound of the bag opening)

but we were looking to maybe get her some "doggie" ice cream this year as a treat. we live in Florida, so our local Publix sells some dog friendly ice cream.

ingredients are Water, Cheese, Maltodextrin, Whey Powder, Whey Protien Concentrate, Guar Gum, Carrageenan, Natural Flavor.

is there anything in here that we should avoid? or is there any suggestions you could give?

any advice would be appreciated, as this is our first dog!
The problem with ice cream is the lactose, sugar, and fat content. This product looks like it could be low sugar and low fat. Whey normally has lactose in it unless it is removed or broken down. You could try a little bit, but don't let her chow down in large quantities. You won't know for a few hours whether she will develop upset stomach and diarrhea. Some dogs can handle dog ice cream, others can't.
