I totally would have walked off the plane. It's ridiculous. Move the other luggage into the overhead bins! Why the *** would they force a passenger to put a living being up there all confined with no air. It's stuffy enough as it is in the airplane cabin, let alone closed off in such a small space. I also couldn't believe that the passenger didn't question it, and didn't check on their dog. But then again, there are all sorts of pet owners. Sigh. It's such a tragedy. Poor poor baby...such a sad death.
From what I read in another new article, the airline refunded the tickets purchased for the dog owner and her two children and the fee that they paid to bring a pet on board – typically $200. There better be more than that. It's insane...
