I had a rescued yorkie years ago. He went through this and ended up having emergency surgery at Texas A&M. He did very well. At the time he was older (probably between 10 and 12) but it hit so fast and I just didn't have time to think about it. I only had two choices....euthanasia or surgery. I am not sure if I would do it on a very old pup again...as I said it hit fast and I didn't have time to think. I will say that if there is no other medical issue complicating things, I would be more likely to do it. Your pup has good bloodwork...that is a good sign. Maxwell lived for another 2 years though...so I was happy for that. |
