If you get a booster seat that is elevated off the passenger seat the air bag is deactivated due to no weight detected on the seat. Here is a pic of my flirty guy in his. One strap goes around the head rest, another strap goes around the body of the seat, there is a short tether attached to the inside of the seat that clips onto the harness preventing the dog from being air bound or falling out of the seat if you slam on your breaks.
