I lost my Layla to NME in 2014. I also have read about vaccinations causing this. The smaller dogs presented with this first & now it seems all breeds are getting it. There is a great site called "New GME dogs" that will guide anyone who has to deal with this dreaded disease. I just adopted a new Yorkie puppy last year and have to give her the rabies this coming Monday. I am sooo paranoid about everything now. Anesthesia, flea and tick preventative, heartworm, etc. Anything that may effect their nervous system.
