Took to my vet the next day and they felt around and found a spot that made her cry that the ER vet never found. Treated her with pain meds/anti inflammatory and she was still having issues. Had to go to an orthopedic specialist who also found that spot and sedated her for X-rays. Come to find out her front leg over extended when she would land after jumping. That is when we got pet stairs and after limited jumping and meds she stopped limping and it never happened again. There is also always a risk of a disc issue. Sammy had IVDD and had issues with. One of his front legs, they did steroids and anti inflammatory pain meds and it would get better. Hope you can figure out what is going on and that it’s fixable.

Thank you!!! My husband keeps telling me, and told the emergency vet last night, that she was "fine" when she went out to go potty (I wasn't there when she started, she left home at 11am and at around 4pm the symptoms started) Keeps saying she just started limping. I keep trying to say that chewie wouldn't even show the vet she was in pain. He knew by her reaction when he touched her paw, but she didn't make a single peep. I believe if it is an injury- not valley fever- that someone grazed her paw yesterday. She won't go near any one's feet right now except mine and it's a bit leery. If it weren't for the other things that have been presenting, fever would have been off my mind and I would be certain that's the case. Chewie is very smart (I know, I sound biased but really she's very bright) I've been watching her this morning. She started out limping badly and has progressed over the course of her waking up to walking on it, albeit shakily. She's been careful to stay away from my husband or daughter walking. Not that she's walking around a lot, she's been staying laid down most of the morning. She just came up as I was typing so she can move around and doesn't seem to have anything wrong with mobility- just the paw. On top of this- Chewie is a pointer. A pointer with her right paw, no less, so she's been SUPER frustrated this morning. Any way, it's the thoughts I have in my head. I'm not an expert on pet medicine, but I AM an expert on my little lady so at least there's that. Thanks again for letting me know about Callie.
