I know it has been awhile since you started this thread so I hope your puppy is on the road to recovery. If not, I don't know how far Burnaby is from Saskatoon but if you can, try and get your vet to refer you to the Veteranary School at the University. We had tremendous success with Sedrick when he suffered a fracture of the c1 c2 vertebrae (atlanto axial subluxation) Our vet bill in Winnipeg was almost as much as it was the surgery and week stay in hospital in S'toon. Because they are a teaching school for vets, they do not charge like a regular clinic and they have a vast array of instructors who are the best in country and they take referrals from across Canada and the States.
