LOL. Sorry. Eddie is doing GREAT! Yes, Joey and I are show-offs. That's why I taught him "you're conceited".

My experience is exactly the same as yours. Before Joey, I had only ever taught a dog to sit, down, speak, and ring the bell to go outside. I never even got as far as stay and heel. But Joey is so dang smart! If my interest weren't lagging, his list of tricks could easily be double what it is now.

As I've told our trainer, the only limit to what Joey can learn (IMHO), is my inexperience as a handler!
