I have to agree with the above posts. The only positive about the wooly or more cottony coat is they look better shaved. A yorkie with a silky coat shaved looks a bit choppy and a cottony coat looks thick. A grown out cotton coat is impossible to maintain and will mat if not brushed out every single day. Both my yorkies have silky coats and I can go a week without brushing them and still won't get a single mat.
