Here rabies is legally required. Mine go lots of places so it’s important I keep them up to date on their vaccines to keep them safe. My oldest girl has Cushings so her immune system is weak so she could die from something like the dog flu so I can’t chance it. I do disimper and parvo every three years, rabies legally every three years. We have a huge Lyme issue here so mine get Lyme which is yearly. Because I take them lots of places I also get Bordatella yearly. I will now keep up with the dog flu vaccine as well. Vaccines do have there place and are important. Your vet might not have known what is best to do with small dogs though I doubt it was money related.
