Well we determined that the hacking sound wasnt a cough, it was merely an attempt to push something throuh his nose. You could hear the congestion in his nose as he did it. We have kept him on the benadryl since and I was avoiding outside since the pollen is high right now, but today I took him out for fresh air to give that a try (holding him not letting him run around) and he sneezed five times in a row and then that was it. Since then nothing!!! I guess he just had sniffed something up and was attempting to get it out!!
