You could also try feeding a bit less of food. Jackson is 9 now and I find he tends to gain easier than he used to. He probably gets more treats than he should though throughout the day lol. But for kibble he gets 1/2 cup per day (and he's 18lbs) and a spoonful of wet food. 1/4 AM, 1/4 PM. |

. You're right, a lot of the reduced fat dog foods contain chicken (Royal Canin has chicken too). I would ask the vet about simply reducing the portion size of your regularly fed dog food. Ask whether or not the dog will still get enough of the other nutrients in the food if the portion size is reduced.
