Chewie has allergies, and she woke up this (late morning, not the first time) doing something bizarre. I don't want to freak myself out or anything, so I haven't looked any information up, but it amounts to her making this hacking noise. It's like a dry cough/dry heaving. It happens at random times. She was playing and it happened, but it didn't happen when she was playing before. It's new behavior. Her voice is ALSO off, too. Almost like she's losing her voice. She was fine this morning, and fine yesterday. I have her appointment tomorrow, and I'm hoping someone has information. |

When you said a dry cough, the first thing I thought of was kennel cough. Also, canine influenza (dog flu) is going around. Has Chewie been around other dogs where she could pick up a contagious disease?
After you see the vet, please update us and let us know what it turns out to be.
