I should tell the story of why we switched groomers for Bella from her first groomer (Pampered Pet of Champaign, IL) to her current groomer (Petsmart of Champaign, IL). When we first took Bella in to Pampered Pet, she would be groomed by the salon's owner, who was a very good groomer. Then once, they pawned her off on to another groomer at the salon without our knowledge, and when she came back, she had severe diarrhea and was sick for a couple of days. We suspect that she was given an unauthorized dog treat that disagreed with her. Since she was sick so quickly, we doubt that it was simply exposure to a sick dog. She also seemed fearful. We HOPE that she wasn't yelled at or otherwise abused.
We've never had that problem at Petsmart, and we can watch her through the window while she is getting her hair cut, if we want to. She seems comfortable on the grooming stable, and she holds still for the groomer. Actually, we're kind of jealous, because she never holds still for us, LOL! |
