Leaving a small dog outside by themselves is a no no there are to many predators also if she were to go potty you would not see her so you could her a treat and tell her how good she is when she does go potty. Have you tried taking her poo and putting it outside where you want her to go? Do not give her free roam of the house when you know she needs to potty. I remember with one of our pups growing up we had to take a chair outside and sit and wait. Potty training can be hard but when they mess up or fail it’s ussally us the humans who are making that happen.
