Just a very tiny amount of Xylitol can kill a dog. If you are diabetic or just health conscious Stevia and Erythritol or a combination of the two are good natural sugar substitutes that will not kill your dog. I will not have Xylitol in our home. We always read ingredient lists if we ever buy packaged food (not very often) it will amaze you the number of chemicals and other questionable ingredients that the FDA allows food corporations to put in human "foods." The low quality stuff put in some dog foods would sicken you to see.
Xylitol is not a bad ingredient for humans but I wouldn't take the chance of having it my home full of four legged family members.
