does she bark when she wakes up at night? maybe it's a good routine for the person who wakes up to take her out of her crate and get her to go potty then put her back when going back to bed. remember, dogs are pack animals. they like to be with their pack and are terribly distressed when they feel like they're being abandoned, ie left to sleep alone. her natural instinct is to make lots of noise so that the pack can find her again. you know you're going to be back, but she doesn't. she needs visual reassurance.

my bunjee was nearly 5 months before he started feeling more comfortable about being left alone and doesn't have separation anexity as badly as he used to. he's still a light sleeper too and will get up and follow me whenever i get up at night to use the bathroom or get some water, and then follow me back to bed (his own bed, but in the bedroom). he doesn't care if my husband gets up tho. he'll perk up, see that it's hubby, then go back to sleep.
