 My Unofficial Therapy Dog
This past Saturday, I took Fabian to the groomer. When I went to go pick him up, one of the groomers was holding a small white girl dog. She introduced the dog as "Fabian's new friend" and said how much fun they had playing together. Considering how Fabian tries to kiss every dog (and person) he meets, I wasn't that surprised.
On my way out, I say the little dog leaving with her owner. I told the owner what the groomer had told me and the woman's eyes welled up.She said that her dog was a rescue and came from deplorable conditions. For the three years since she's had the dog, the dog has been terrified of other dogs and not once played with one. She said that that her dog having a "play date" at the groomers was the best Christmas present she could have gotten.
I just love my little furry guy so much and am so happy at what a kind gentle soul he has. (When he's not destroying his stuffed toys, that is. <g>) |
