I had the same problem with mine. She was also a picky eater so that didn't help. This was my constant struggle with her for months. She grew out of it though and now eats from her bowl during her scheduled feedings.
I found out that she eats from a plate. Sometimes she would only eat off of the floor. I ended up getting a placemat for her to eat off of.
She also didn't want to see too much food. I think it overwhelmed her. I used to spread little bits of her food on her placemat or plate.
To get her to eat off of the plate or a shallow bowl (cat bowl/dish), I hand fed her but slowly led her to her bowl. As she tried to eat off of my hand, I dropped the food into her plate/bowl then she would eat from the bowl/plate. Not consistently though. |
