Hmmm 8 hrs is a long time for a new puppy...is there someone that can come by & check on her while you're @ work? How old will she be? Will she be crate trained?

Otherwise, giving her a bigger meal in the morning should be fine. You can test it out when you're home for the day, like a weekend or something. To make sure she doesn't vomit. Some dogs will eat it again, I know it's so gross but it's natural for them.

Homemade kefir is super excellent!
