Basically, the protein source is broken down in smaller pieces that don't trigger the immune system.
I also agree about more frequent, smaller feedings. Our Bella had the same problem with vomiting in the morning, so we make sure she has a small meal just before she goes to bed, and another one after she wakes up in the morning. That solved the vomiting problem. Pepcid is also an option that our vet suggested if the frequent small meals don't work, but since the new feeding regimen worked for us, we didn't want to give Bella an unnecessary medication.
