As soon as you see him doing something bad just say "No" or "Bad boy" (as you said) with the proper voice and intonation.
He understands when he is doing something bad by the intonation of your voice.
As soon as you show him he is not doing the right thing, grab a toy and take his attention.
When he replaces doing the wrong thing with playing with his toy, say "Good boy" and give him a treat.
Use a positive and polite intonation.
The most important command he needs to learn first is "NO".
Physical punishment usually doesn't help and it brings issues in the behavior in the future. |
