Default P

Hello.
I am so sorry to hear your baby is not doing well.
I agree with Lady Jane that he need to be hospitalized asap.
You say in post # 23 above that the tests were positive for pancreatitis. From the number range you give, it seems like it is the cPL test. When my dog had this test the range was similar. Luckily my dog only had a reading of 900, at the lowest end for P, and he responded well to vet office and home treatment very well. But I saw that your dog's value was very high and twice the maximum in the P diagnosis range.
From what I have seen here and in other places, when a dog has such severe P, he would usually be hospitalized for monitoring and in-house treatment until he improves enough to be treated at home. I did not see that your dog was so treated?
So it seems that the P is not improving as it should, even though you are doing all the things the vet suggested. If he is still not well and having GI symptoms, he could well be dehydrated at least, and at worst could well have complications that need further diagnosis and treatment.
I know it is hard on weekends and holidays to get to see a vet, but please do all you can to get him seen and admitted. Praying for your baby and for you too, you must be very concerned.
Sorry this post is late, but my iPad ran out of power when I had just typed the post and I lost it all and had to retype on my desktop.
I do so feel for you and hope you will have better news soon. Warm and healing wishes. Hugs.
