Default P

Hello. Thanks for the reply. Sure looks like the pancreatitis number is high. Glad you had the test done to get the diagnosis.
Pancreatitis can take time to recover from, so perhaps if you keep him on a very light diet and low food intake to give his tummy a rest, he will get over it in time.
My dog was only just over 900, so he recovered very quickly. Great that your baby's kidney and other organs were ok. Please do not feed treats or human food from now on in case your dog is prone to P disease.
So sorry you lost your baby girl in the past. I know the feeling, my girl went in to the vet on a Friday with what I thought was a minor GI issue and was gone on the Monday with acute kidney failure. A terrible shock with no warning.
So hang in there and I am sure your boy will get well again soon. If the vomiting continues you might try oral Cerenia to help that. But I guess the nausea is warning the dog not to eat too much! I must say that if my dog shows any GI issues, he is straight to the vet for tests. If caught early P is not such a big deal.
I would add that my dog was prone to acid reflux after the P bout, especially in the early morning after a long fasting night. But a small meal and low dose Pepcid at night stopped that. Wishing your baby a speedy recovery and less stress for his mom!
