Thanks for the update.
You say the vet put him on meds, and like Lady Jane asked, it would be interesting to know what meds your baby is on. The regimen my vet put my dog on made him better very quickly. One med that was really good was Cerenia, an anti nausea med, either as an injection or orally. Also perhaps Pepcid in the right dose at night with a small meal of chicken and rice would help with the morning vomiting? I would keep him on the c and r until he is no longer vomiting and seeming well. Then perhaps introduce some canned ID Low Fat to the c and r, until he can take the canned and then wean onto the kibble. Also since my dog had his bout of P, I have found that smaller meals more often agreed with him. Glad to hear he is looking better, but if he does not get better soon it may be wise to take him to the vet again?
