Default Advice about getting a second Dog/Yorkie

So I have some advice to ask the forum. I've noticed that my yorkie Rocky has been depressed lately. He sleeps most of the time and likes to play however, we're either too tired or too busy and can't play around with him as much as we'd like. We used to bring him to doggy daycare but when my wife was giving birth to our daughter we had to put him up in a doggy daycare for 7days straight and after that every time we bring him to a daycare he thinks we're leaving him and gets scared and doesn't want to interact or play with the other dogs and just follows the person who watches over the dogs around. We've tried 2 different doggie day cares. We recently stayed over at a friends house who have 3 pugs and Rocky had so much fun playing around with the pugs and seemed really happy. So we thought maybe we should just get a second dog so that Rocky can have a friend to play with all the time?

However, I have a few reservations about this.
My concerns are:
1) It seems like we don't have a lot of time for 1 dog, having another dog especially a puppy will take even more time plus we're trying to have a second child which will limit everyone's free time even more.
2) Rocky might get even more depressed when we bring another puppy home because he might think we're trying to replace him.

My wife thinks getting a second dog is a great idea, that even though Rocky might get depressed a little at first that another dog is in the house, he will have a buddy to play with and will quickly learn to get a long and in the long run will be much happier because he'll have someone to play with all the time.

She doesn't think it will be that much more work taking care of 2 dogs compared to taking care of 1 dog, and I kind of agree with her on this one.

With that said, we're meeting a women this saturday who would like to rehome her 5 month old yorkie. This is great because we wanted a slightly older puppy so that he can keep up with Rocky and hold his pee a little longer than a 9week old puppy would. This lady agreed for us to take her dog into our house for 24hrs and see how the two will interact before buying him and keeping him forever. In this 24hrs we have also scheduled a vet visit for a physical exam to make sure the puppy is healthy.

What do you guys think? It breaks my heart seeing Rocky sad and not having anyone to play with, however, I am concerned that having a second dog might not be the best idea. I've suggested maybe trying other doggy daycares where Rocky can get a little more one on one interaction.

I would love to hear your comments and advice on what I should do.

thank you in advance.
