Default *Need advice on new puppy home alone*

Hi! My name is Olivia and I recently just joined these forums last night! I was looking for a little support, advice, etc......

I recently adopted a little 10 week old male Yorkie and named him Ringo. I welcomed him into my 1 bedroom first floor apartment this past Sunday (along with my 2 year old cat who is pretty indifferent)! I am completely fine and aware of everything that comes with having a puppy, as they are like newborn babies. However, I have been stressing myself sick with leaving him home while I work.

I have had friends come and check on him while I work and let him out to pee, play, etc. That has relieved a little bit of my stress. However, I leave my home every morning around 7:40 AM and return at 6:15 PM. I cannot come and let him out during the day, as I am 20 mins away from home.

I am not looking to be judged and get yelled at. I know it is not ideal by any means to leave a PUPPY that long alone, and I have stated that I have 1-2 friends check up on him throughout the day. However, when he is older, will this be unfair to the dog? I just worry about him being lonely and it might be unfair that I only see him during evenings and weekends. I know plenty of people have to work and do work with a dog...but does this seem fair to the dog? Does anyone else feel incredible guilt? Will that feeling subside? HELP!
