Wylie's Mom: That's exactly what I was thinking, just in case allergies develop later in life. Muffin already developed an allergy to chicken, maybe I introduced it to her too early. The breeder had her on beef products, when I got her, but I didn't like the brands she was using (GMOs etc) so I slowly incorporated chicken and then just gave her chicken meals but then the allergy popped up. Now she gets fish & lamb meals on alternate days. Variety is the spice of life, they say. |
The issue with non prescription food if they are actually allergic to a food is it is all made in the same factories where all the foods come in contact with each other so unless its a prescription food there is going to be some of all ingredients that are used in that factory in which ever food you feed. Kinda like people who are allergic to peanuts can not eat anything made in a factory with peanut or peanut products. So more then likely she just doesn't tolerate the chicken more then an actual allergy which food allergies are actually pretty rare. I have a girl with IBD which is cause by food allergies so she is on Royal Canin Hypoallergenic prescription small breed. My other two eat it at well and have such shinny coats.
