Well, they will still look super cute. The good thing is that if you do not like them with the short trim, you can always grow the hair as before
So go ahead and do some change.
One tip from me - do no cut it real real short (like almost to the skin).
From my experience I can say that after trimming short and then growing the hair again, it makes it even softer and prettier.
