I'm seriously thinking he needs a dog his age/size to play with. Otherwise he'll be a 30 lb yorkie! He's 12 lbs. now (vet chews me out every time he sees him) Ava had Emma to play with and now they are inseparable. Ava plays with max but for 5 minutes tops. Is 4 dogs like a crazy idea? I work from home so I'm home all day except for a couple weekends a year plus vacations. But nana loves her grand dogs and they are always welcome. Max is a fantastic dog that loves all dogs. Would you get another boy or would a girl cause him to mark the house? He's fixed and never marked his territory ever but wouldnt want him to start. That's why we didn't want a boy but he's been great.
If you feel a 4th dog wouldn't be a burden on you I say go for it. Keep in mind it will be a puppy so much extra work in the potty training. I personally would get a girl since you already have a boy, this way fear of marking is excluded. I had a pack of 3 girls, all 3 years apart, all now passed. Seeing the 3 of them zooming through the house, wrestling with each other, placing hide and seek filled my heart with such overwhelming joy, life could not be better. I don't know if it would cause Max to start marking, Cody is my first boy, my rescue, he is neutered, squats to pee , no marking ever, a perfect boy. I don't think it's crazy to own 4 babies, these are toy breeds, not like having 4 German Shepherds lol. Go for it.
