Please Help!!

I have a Yorkie poo puppy that is almost 8 wks old. I have had him a week and am trying to crate train. He now feels comfortable going into crate but when i close door he will start yelping a few minutes later. It breaks my heart! How do I be strong and not take him out when he cries. I am potty training him and he needs to not be left out without supervision. Please give me some advice to make it through this crate training period.
