I had Deuce in somewhat of a long coat for the first 5 years then we moved to a lake and ticks were a problem. I lamented for many months and finally cut him down. Now It's so much easier to manage and guess what . . . no ticks. I don't know if they just don't come around much because we're always here or if because we have shorter hair and different flea and tick meds. My boy loves to be groomed with a little massage. It was so difficult for me to decide to cut him down.
