Gosh, I've just read this whole thread and can't imagine how it went from one end of the spectrum to the other with absolutely no change in any of the facts! First of all, I don't think anyone can argue the fact that this was a bruise. Of course it was! To say that maybe it was caused by either one or the other of the kids "tugging" at the leash is horrifying to me, but then to hear the poor pup was also hit with a toy by an almost one-yr-old absolutely makes me ill. Stating this pup was 10 lbs rather than 5 lbs, makes it no better. 10 lbs is still a tiny little thing! What set of facts does one need to believe something traumatic did indeed happen to this poor little guy??? Also, if in fact, neither of those particular events did cause the bruising, are those not reasons enough to keep this poor pup protected from these kids anyway? My goodness, what would it take to make someone realize maybe leaving him with them was not such a great idea? If I knew kids were going to "tug" at my pups or hit them with toys, accidentally or not, I would feel a certain obligation and duty to my babies to protect them from such actions. Am I missing something here??? To the OP, I'm glad your little guy healed quickly, but that is certainly no reason to excuse the behavior or let it happen again. |
