Rally need help with hyper excited rescue Yorkie I have a gorgeous yorkie rescued from the pound, however big concerns with some behaviour. I have had a much loved yorkie before and am familiar with reverse sneezing and tracheal collapse problems which is why Im so concerned about this little girl. On leaving the house the little dog (about 5 yrs old?) pulls like a train, she is so excited she cant breathe, she gasps, drools, makes awful breathless noises panting hard. Vet has checked her over and says this is behaviour no health issues. When we get to the park or forest she can be exhausted lying in the grass to recover- on the way back- different dog, walks calmly, breathes normally and is a pleasure to walk. Really lost as how to calm her, history isnt known, dont tink she had been excercised (pink pads on paws) or socialised (very dog reactive), Really need help as how to calm her on leaving house or i think she will do some damage to herself as the breathing is so traumatic. Any help or tips appreciated, think this was why she was sent to the pound. |
