Actually nexguard is very safe the only issues is in dogs that have a history of seizures. My vets feels it’s so safe that she put her dogs on it. She had only had one issue with it when I talked to her and put mine on it and that was one dog got a bit lethargic. Topicals make my older girl very ill and it was a pain to use it because I had to try to remind my grandparents not to touch them there. Either way whether topical or pill it goes into the blood stream. Mine take heartguard for heartworms I believe it has been around the longest and we never have had issues. I used interceptor many years ago before they stopped making it. I also always give it to them after a meal just to make sure there is no tummy upset.
