He does fine when we leave him home, ( we have a poodle as well who keeps him company) but if we take him out he freaks out. He loves to ride but is super anxious in the car. He does not break out in any of theses instances except the groomers. That's why I'm leading toward allergy. Any suggestions welcomed.
If it were me, I'd hang around a bit and watch how the groomer handles some of her other clients. If I was comfortable that the anxiety issues weren't associated with the groomer, I would take the grooming supplies I used at home that work and ask the groomer to use them. Really shouldn't be an issue.

I did just that while I was growing out Lollie's show coat. I always took care of her grooming, but I had surgery and needed help with her coat for a short period of time. My groomer is an AKC exhibitor, so she fully understood my pickiness and had no problem with me bringing Lollie's hair products. I just put them in miniature bottles and labeled them
