We buy soft treats that we are able to put the pill in the middle of. They also make pill pockets. If its a pill that might have a strong taste or smell we make sure to get something that is very strong flavored. We also have given a treat before hand that had no pill and then gave the one with the pill. We also have given her the one with the pill and then followed up with another one so she has no time to pick the pill out. There also is the option of a pill shooter. It sounds bad but its not, it just drops the pill down the back of their throat. You have to make sure it has a rubber tip though or you could damage their throat. I have to do the pill shooter every time Callie has to take tramadol because it tastes so bitter.
