My boy Nikko has the same problem so I don't think it is a gender problem. He throws up every time we take him to my mom's house (a 45 minute drive). My question is does the benedryl make them drowsy? I don't want to knock him out and be mopey when we get to mom's. He loves going to grandma's and gets so happy when we arrive. Its just the trip there that makes him sick.
