Always safer to have a vet check them out. Pancreatitis can kill a pup! Vomiting and discomfort are signs of pancreatitis...could be something else, but I don't play around with those symptoms because I have seen how fast these pups can go downhill. I have never been advised to use Pepto Bismol and have some concerns about using it.
