I don't think spaying causes frequent urination. Maybe in a small amount but it is not the norm. I grew up with mostly female dogs and none of them had that issue. My oldest now who is 10 and was spayed at 8 months has not had that issue either. So I have to disagree with your vet that, that will occur in any spayed dog.
